 Tony Tuimavave
Age: 54
D.O.B: 24 April 1969
Place of Birth: Western Samoa
Former Clubs: Northcote
Weight: 96 kg
Height: 182 cm
The original warrior - the only Warrior left who appeared in the club's debut Winfield Cup match against Brisbane in 1995. He turns 31 in April. Of the 35 contracted players, only Terry Hermansson is older. Like so many others, was a rejuvenated player under Mark Graham's coaching last year. In a Warriors career that's had its peaks and troughs, he hadn't scored a try for two years but then scored two in two games last year, the first a matchwinner against South Sydney. He's a player who simply never stops and always plays well above his size. It seems he's been around forever, and he has. Originally out of the Mt Albert club and later Northcote, he made the first of 30 appearances for the Auckland representative team in 1988. In 1987, he made the Junior Kiwis' unbeaten tour to England in a side that included Jarrod McCracken, Tony Kemp, Kevin Iro and Jason Lowrie. He was in Kiwi Colts sides in 1990 and 1991 and had a season with Sheffield Eagles in England in 1991-92. Has topped 50 appearances for the Warriors, last season perhaps his best apart from two suspensions on tackling charges.
