Experienced Auckland club footballer with a reputation as a punishing defender and a tough all-round front rower. Picked up by the Warriors from the Central Sharks in Auckland's local competition. Kalolo doesn't come from one of the best sides in the championship (the Sharks were last in 1999) but the Warriors' coaching staff were keen on him. He gives the club far greater depth at front row behind the first choices Joe Vagana, Jerry Seuseu, Mark Tookey and Terry Hermansson. Kalolo is on the next line with Talite Liava'a. Mark Graham argues he needs all the props he can lay his hands on now the NRL runs 26 rounds with home and away games. Kalolo was in the Auckland representative side that beat Country New South Wales 33-16 last year and was also in the Auckland North squad for the National Provincial Cup competition.
