 Paul Rauhihi
Age: 47
D.O.B: 3 July 1973
Place of Birth: Porirua
Former Clubs: Northcote
Weight: 116 kg
Height: 190 cm
He suffered injury worries throughout 1995 but the “man mountain” was a stand-out for the reserves in 1996 with big hits and incredible bullocking runs. Used as a shock weapon off the bench, Rauhihi - nick named “Unit” because of his build - was rewarded for his good form with selection in the New Zealand Maori team, where he was a key contributor to the side’s wins over PNG and Great Britain. Rauhihi resigned from the navy (where he was a radio fitter) to take up a full time contract in 1997.
