Having just retired, the former halfback will become a specialist halves coach, working with 21-year-old Kyle Flanagan who is poised to replace him in the number seven jersey.
Cronk played his final two seasons at the Roosters, winning back to back premierships.
Meanwhile the career of Brisbane Broncos forward Matt Gillett has come to an abrupt end.
Gillett's announced his retirement following constant injury struggles including a broken neck he suffered last year.
