New North Queensland winger Nene Macdonald is expected to make a full recovery and start training with his new NRL club next month after being assaulted in Papua New Guinea

MacDonald was struck on the head by a bottle at a Port Moresby hotel on Saturday night, with Cowboys players sending messages of support before returning to pre-season training today.
A Cowboys spokesman said Macdonald has recovered and is flying back to Australia and is expected to be back training by December 5th.
